E Coli and Coliform Bacteria Water Test Kit

Shelf Life: 12 months

Storage Conditions: Store at 2-30°C in a cool, dry and dark environment. Avoid direct light exposure.

Instructions

1. Clean and dry your hands thoroughly before testing.

2. Turn on the cold water tap and allow it to run for 2 minutes.

3. Fill the centrifuge tube with water sample to the 50ml line.

4. Cap the centrifuge tube securely and shake it vigorously until all powder dissolve.

5. Transfer water sample into five 15ml centrifuge tubes, filling each to the 10ml line.

6. Secure the caps on the 15ml tubes and shake gently to dissolve most of the powder.

7. Insert the 15ml tubes into the holes and let them stand upright for 30 minutes.

8. Once the foam in the 15ml tubes dissipates, invert each tube gently once to ensure the inner glass tube is filled with liquid.

9. If there are bubbles in the glass tube,slowly invert it again until the glass tube is filled with liquid.

10. Reinsert the tubes upright into the hole and observe after incubation at 37°C for 24 hours or at room temperature for 48 hours.

Result Interpretation

1. Positive/Negative Determination

Positive: Liquid in the 15ml centrifuge tube turns yellow with gas bubbles present in the glass tube.

Negative: Liquid remains blue-purple without bubbles in the glass tube.

2. MPN Calculation

Quantify total coliforms using the Most Probable Number (MPN) table based on the count of positive 15ml tubes.

Undetected Result: If all tubes test negative, total coliforms are considered undetected.
